We’re proud to say that we have made it as one of the 12 finalist in the Start Up Hub competition for top start-up businesses in the UK, sponsored by Fujitsu and BVCA. As the other start up businesses that made it to the finals are not only so varied in terms of what their business offers, but they seem like businesses with a solid proposition. Which is of course reassuring for us to know that we’re up against quality candidates and that we’re one of them! The finalists gets a chance to exhibit and present their business in front of thousands of delegates, the nation’s media and business leaders from across the country.
It’s been a very busy few months for us with a couple of main exhibits to attend and participate in, among many other things we’ve been busy doing. One main exhibition being 100% Design at Earls Court, London, the other being Start Up Hub, Manchester at the Conservative Conference with the two exhibitions being only a week apart.
What an exciting week for us, London and the world of design in general! As there are so much going on in London Design Festival, with various shows scattered all around the capital, one of them being 100% Design at Earls Court where we exhibited in our first trade show.
We’re now glad to be back too. Just in case you missed the show, here are some pictures for you:

We would like to thank the many intriguing individuals, professionals and businesses that we’ve met and have given us such great interests in our designs and most importantly, their invaluable feedback and support during our time on our first show at 100% Design.
Just a bit more press, which we happen to be in. Yay to that!
Not only are our wallpapers pretty to look at, they also help you keep a clear conscience on the eco side of things. So, not just a pretty face!

On the ethical side of things, we do try to keep things in the family (the UK). In addition to making most of our products in-house in our Edinburgh studio, we also only use Scottish or UK based suppliers and manufacturers. Which means that we are helping to support the UK economy and the businesses here, and that there’s also less distance on the supply chain, which equals to us contributing to being greener.
We have been busy here at Moody Monday HQ. Yes, indeed! We have been really busy creating new stuff to add to our homeware range, as it looked a bit lonely for some while now.
We have came up with designs to introduce into our coasters and placemats in our homeware range, and they are to match our debut wallpaper collection. So you will have the option of going all out with our designs, or you can choose to have snippets of it here and there as accessories around the home. And what best to start with but with placemats and coasters?
This new range is to completely replace the ones we currently have on our website, and it will be melamine finished to ensure prolonged durability. So not only will it be more robust, it will also be easier to care for.
On that note, we are so pleased at how the proofs had turned out that we now just cannot decide which one we should go for to start our modest collection of coasters and placemats designs! And this is where you come in to help us out!
As we highly value your opinion and great taste, we thought YOU should decide as to which ones you’d let into your design-conscious homes! We’ll even reward you for this! So we’re letting you decide which four out of the six design options below that are your favourites, and we should be making to add to our homeware range.
A preview of our coasters designs:
We will be posting this all over twitter, facebook, and of course our website.
Vote ends at midnight, Wednesday, 5th June 2013.
So get yourself in gear and help us decide in order to get your mitts on one of our matching sets of coasters & placemats with a combined worth of £58!
I will be looking forward to see what gets selected!
We would like to thank Grand Designs Magazine for featuring one of our wallpapers ‘Black Keys, Black on White‘ on their Special Edition 01 – June 2013 issue as one of the Editor’s choices for their ‘Be Bold with Black and White prints’ under the Cool Neutrals section. This magazine just came out last Friday, and it is ‘The Extensions Issue’ available in any good newsagents or supermarkets.
We’ve got great news to share from our Edinburgh studio.. We will be exhibiting our newly released wallpaper and homeware in 100% Design, London 2013 this coming September! Exhibiting along some of the big names and players in design, we will perch ourselves on Stand D42 (right across from the seminar theatre), as part of the Emerging Brands circle. This event has been noted as one of the biggest event to go to during London Design Festival, and the registration is free if you get in there early.
We will be posting updates leading up to this event. So keep your eyes and ears peeled for our exciting updates on what will be happening leading up to it.
